Recognizing the importance
of building homes in sympathy with the local heritage
and natural environment, Hickinbotham invited
outstanding planners, architects, landscape designers
and artists to create an estate that reflects the unique
character of the Barossa. The Hickinbotham family
has a long history in the wine industry and the Barossa,
producing and exporting award winning
wines. In 1932 Alan Robb Hickinbotham established
the world-famous oenology wine course at Roseworthy
College (now Adelaide University). To commemorate
this new development, the Hickinbotham family has
produced Barossa Estate wine. This traditional blend of
two varieties – shiraz and cabernet – embodies the
essence and flavour of a classic australian red. A rich
dark ruby red with a bouquet full of lush fruit.
